Welcome

US Wushu Academy was founded in 1988 beginning its long tradition in teaching students to have self-confidence by building their strength, endurance, and skill in the art of Wushu.

This camp is open to all levels of Taiji practitioners.  All skill levels are welcome and will benefit from this rigorous training.  This camp is also appropriate for those who wish to begin their Taiji journey with a strong foundation.

The camp focuses on Yang Style Traditional Sword and Chen Style Competition Sword routines.

Refine techniques, improve precision, and build confidence in your Taiji journey.

The weekend after the training it is time to test your skill at the US Challenge competition.

US Challenge is an open international competition in which all different Chinese martial arts disciplines come together to contest and to share each other’s knowledge. This is a two-day event with Taiji on the second day, August 11th.

Welcome

Coach

Coach Christopher Pei began his training at the age of 15, and by a rare opportunity in 1980 he was accepted to train with the Beijing Wushu Team in China.  Coach Pei was a member of the first US National Wushu Team and competed in the first International Wushu Invitational Championship in Xian, China.  Later, he became the US Wushu Team Leader and the Vice President of the US Wushu Federation.

Coach Pei was born to a traditional Chinese family in Taiwan, immigrated to the US, then learned Wushu in China. His experiences living within these three unique cultures has formed the foundation for his teaching.  He draws upon the best each culture has to offer while building bridges for understanding and managing the differences.

Coach Pei’s life motto is “The essence of life is in the constant refinement of one’s spiritual self”.
He encourages all his students to be on a path of continuous learning and refinement.  He is dedicated to helping his students create a solid foundation in the traditional arts and for thriving in life.
