Not only did our 12 year old Vanessa Loza with a Gold Medal for Broadsword at the Second World Junior Wushu Championship in Bali (2009), she was the first American to ever win a gold at a Global Wushu Competition.
We were bursting with pride not just for Vanessa but her teammates from the US Wushu Team and USWA. Together, they brought home the gold, two silver medals, one bronze medal and multiple certificates. This was the best performance for the US Team since 1988 when another student of Coach Zhang brought home a silver.
